Showing Salvation

Each year in preparation for the Lenten Season, members and friends of Christ Church prepare a devotional guide for everyone in our church. This year’s theme is Showing Salvation.

In each of these 37 entries, someone from our CCNYC community (both congregants and staff members, the latter of whom are introduced with their title) has written about someone who they consider a saint. This collection thus is an open-ended canon of people and things—friends, family members, mentors, public figures, and more—who offer guidance for thinking about what it means to experience salvation. Punctuating these entries are scriptures and reflection prompts for the Sundays and the major dates of Holy Week. Through these short stories and insightful reflections, we hope your Lenten journey will be deepened as these stories of saints showing salvation will prepare us to rehearse and remember the Passion story that leads us to the hope of Easter resurrection, our celebration of God’s salvific new life.
