Over the years, some have used the Apostle’s Creed rigidly and coercively, treating its faith statements as little more than a theological litmus test. But could the Creed and its theological content be something more than this for the church? How might we think dynamically and meaningfully about
the conceptualization of God as “the Creator of heaven and earth”
or the naming of Jesus as “God’s only son,” not to mention the highlighting his unique birth, his suffering and death, his resurrection and ascension, and his coming again
or the affirmation of the Holy Spirit, the “holy catholic church,” and things like the forgiveness of sins and the resurrection of the body
Join us for these weekly conversations about the church’s unique theological story and what that story communicates about the redemptive activity of God and the nature of the church.
The class is held in person, but we do offer a zoom link for those who would like to listen in.
